What you will be doing

Reporting to the Director of Procurement and is responsible for leading the execution of procurement and processes to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness Responsible to creating annual purchasing programs, processes, and guidelines and management of procurement team. Leverages effective vendor negotiation skills to secure optimum competitive pricing levels, payment terms, rebates, returns and other buying conditions.

MANAGEMENT/ LEADERSHIP

Responsible for efficiency in the purchasing department.

Assign duties/tasks to purchasing team.

Coach, mentor and led the team.

Responsible for performance review process.

Provide training, exposure, and support to foster maximum employee development, satisfaction and performance.

Establish metrics to measure and improve department performance.

Ensure all Gerrie documented policies and procedures are adhered to.

Build and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders across the entire organization and provide a high level of service/advice for other departments and branches.

Provide Leadership and Direction to your team through regular meetings and performance management to ensure your team meets their goals.

Participate in hiring for your team, conduct performance reviews and goal setting for the team.

Build and maintain trusting and inclusive relationships with all departments within the organization. Establish and maintain good morale, motivation, and recognition of accomplishments to employees.

PURCHASING MANAGEMENT

Manage all aspects of procurement.

Develop purchasing programs.

Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.

Monitor and measure KPI’s for supplier performance and ensue quality, service and price expectations are met.

Regular and effective meetings with suppliers/reps to build and manage relationships.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for the best competitive advantage.

Work closely with the Pricing team to ensure accurate and timely pricing.

Communicate changes to the branch locations.

Enter purchase orders into the system.

Empower the team to look for best practices to improve procurement opportunities/

Manage and resolve vendor disputes in a timely manner.

SUPPLY CHAIN AND LOGISTICS EFFICIENCY

Support the strategy and execution of supply chain operations moving product from vendor to warehouse/branches in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Execute best in class supply chain processes including cross border logistics, third party warehouse operations and distribution carriers/methods.

Monitor supply logistics to ensure efficiency and optimal supply.

Manage flow of goods into our facilities on behalf of all locations.

Analyze and optimize inbound transportation costs; negotiate rates, make recommendations for productivity improvements.

Monitor, track and evolve IPI’s for each function within the supply chain; work and communicate with Mangers/Supervisors on a regular reporting schedule; identify areas of continuous improvement.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

Prepare reports and analyze inventory mix and levels, follow and ensure the company wide metric calculations are met, example: fill rates, and turnover goals approved by the Executive.

Negotiate with suppliers for returns and exchanges and advise branches of terms and

condition in coordination with the inventory specialist.

Manager inventory investments to maximize demand including initial buys, order.

adjustments and excess inventory.

Identify saleable obsolete/discontinued inventory that cannot be returned to a vendor.

and work with sales and marketing to develop a plan for their sales.

Drive the analysis for supply opportunities and risk.

Manage buy plan seasonality vs market sales targets and groups stock goals.

Ensure regular rotation of stock.

Review reorder points, purchase order multiples and item classifications.

PRODUCT DATA INTEGRITY

Evaluate Vendors and products by use of sales and analytic reports in conjunction with the inventory specialist, determine where changes are required, work with Product and Pricing department new or changing products, liaise with on alignment of their product mix and in relation to changing market conditions.

Maintain and update product data as required by Director of Pricing and Product Integrity.

SALES AND MARKETING

Work with CMO/EVP Sales to investigate and analyze new products to be purchased and stocked, to drive increased sales of new or existing products; determine product changes/additions. develop new products to be purchased and stocked.

Perform continuous evaluation, development and execution of policies and programs.

Ensure the criteria in the ISO Audits and Branch Inspections relating to procurement are adhered to and followed up when not in compliance, attend monthly and quarterly vendor update meetings, continue to develop purchasing management skills as they relate to Gerrie Electric, ensure timely completion of any/all special projects as assigned.

What you bring to the table

Post Secondary Degree/Diploma Specialization Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related Field.

CPP or CPM designation an asset.

5+ years in an operational role with experience in supply chain, logistics, distribution, and warehouse.

5+ years of supervisory/management experience.

Experience in Category Management in Electrical Distribution space

Electrical Industry experience & product knowledge

Advanced Excel skills – V-Look up, Pivot Table, and Macro

Advanced analytical skills, able to extract, read and analyze data

Able to monitor and analyze procurement and inventory related financial metrics

Strong business acumen
